Do you know your stopping capability?

Read moreDisc rotors can withstand the toughest conditions and are built to handle intense heat.
When a car's brakes are applied to reduce speed or stop, tremendous amounts of friction occur, leading to heat build up in the disc rotors. f this heat isn't properly dissipated, the brake pads' performance can suffer.
To increase cooling efficiency, the internal design of a ventilated disc rotor features diamond and teardrop-shaped columns, rather than traditional straight vanes.
By taking a closer look, we can easily observe the rotor's inner workings and it look like we have cut one in half to demonstrate this.
However, the Rotor on the left has actually been worn completely down because of sheer neglect in servicing the Brakes. When the Braking System gets this bad you just won't be able to stop.
The rotor surface was worn away, there were no brake pads, no brake backing plates ... nothing! The caliper piston had also been so ground down that it popped out and brake fluid leak straight out. We were shocked, we had never seen this before.
Squealing, grinding, shuddering, changing response times, needing to pump the brake to stop ... these are all signs that things are going very wrong.
Don't tale a risk ... make sure you can stop, quickly, every time.
